A SPARK OF MAGIC

Would you like to include something special in the ceremony? A ritual like handfasting, a meaningful gesture, or something else that symbolizes your love and goes beyond words? Yes, please!

A few fun ideas:

Each person writes a sentence for the other, containing an intention or promise. During the ceremony, it is sealed without being read. Then, in a few weeks or years, you can open it together and return to this moment.

Subtly weave numerology into the ceremony. Explore the meaning of your wedding date and birth dates as an extra layer to your story.

Make your dog part of your special moment. He or she could be a ring bearer or simply a loving presence during the exchange of vows.

I speak Dutch and English fluently. Do you have guests who speak other languages? I can arrange a translation of the speech for them, or make sure an interpreter is present.

  • Guidance in writing your vows

How do you put everything you feel into words? That's quite a challenge. That's why I'm happy to support you with this.

  • Involving animals or loved ones

Perhaps you would like to ask your mother or best friend to perform a ritual. Or have your horse carry the rings. Anything is possible!

  • Legal and/or symbolic ceremony

As a certified wedding officiant, I am authorized to officially marry you. Would you prefer a symbolic ceremony? That is also an option!

  • Adding creative elements

Would you like to add some surprising, funny, or fun elements? I would be happy to help you think of ways to make your ceremony even more memorable.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT OF YOUR DAY

This is how it works

We start with a no-obligation online consultation call. Who are you? What is important to you? What feels right, and what doesn't? No pressure, just a chance to see if there’s a connection between us. Is it a wholehearted YES? Then you will receive a proposal. Once you approve it, I’ll mark your wedding date in my calendar with a big, bold marker.

You will receive a detailed questionnaire to fill out separately. So grab a cup of tea, curl up on the couch, and get ready for a trip down memory lane. I also invite you to start thinking about the details and practicalities of the ceremony. 

After that, I’ll stop by to delve deeper into the details, whether at your kitchen table or at the wedding venue. And if you’d like, I’ll also speak with your loved ones to round out the story.

I capture your love story in words. What that will sound like? That remains a surprise until the moment itself on your wedding day. I also create a fully detailed ceremony structure in which words, music, the wedding ceremony, flow, and timing come together as one.

I arrive well in advance to double-check everything and check in on you. We will take a quiet moment together, a quick breather before it all begins. I also coordinate with your photographer, videographer, the venue's event manager, and the wedding director, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Then the moment is finally here (yes!). A ceremony of about 45 minutes, focused entirely on your love. A moment where you can be fully present and relaxed, and where your guests truly feel the emotion with you. Afterwards, we'll have a brief chat, and then I'll slip away so you can continue celebrating with your guests.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes! As a wedding officiant, I’m authorized to perform legal marriages anywhere in the Netherlands. And if you’re planning a symbolic ceremony, I’m available to lead those throughout the Netherlands as well, independent of the legal marriage.

Is a ring round? Absolutely! I'd love to. I can certainly lead the ceremonial part of your day. If needed, I'm also happy to advise you on how to arrange the legalities.

A municipal officiant is fine for a short, legal ceremony. However, there are a lot of limitations. For example, you cannot schedule an introductory meeting, there is often only about 30 minutes for the ceremony, and there is little or no room for personal elements or involving your loved ones.

An independent officiant like me takes the time to truly get to know you and writes a 100% personal ceremony. I also help you think about symbolism and the overall flow, and I coordinate with the photographer, wedding MC and venue manager. Ensuring everything comes together perfectly at the right moment.

As soon as possible. My calender fills up quickly, so the longer you wait, the greater the chance you'll miss out. To give you an idea:

Legal ceremonies

I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance. For popular months or special dates, 12 to 16 months is even better. This also gives us enough time to arrange any legal formalities.

Symbolic ceremonies

In that case, we have a bit more flexibility. But the same rule applies: the earlier, the better. Please reach out at least 4 months in advance to allow enough time for preparations.
